《帕丁顿熊 Paddington Bear》第一次出现是在1958年，随后有14本麦克·邦德(Michael Bond)所写的书是以他为主角，由佩姬·佛特南(Peggy Fortnum)绘制的帕丁顿熊图像获得专售权。

帕丁顿熊比较像是一只泰迪熊，也就是小熊维尼的原型，而非是一只真正的熊。

帕丁顿熊的灵感来源据说是邦德及妻子在圣诞节期间在一家店内所看到的泰迪熊，因为那只泰迪熊是货架上最后一只小熊，他们觉得它会感到孤独因此把它买了回家。
